Tracking cholesterol and oxysterol transport pathways across the blood-brain barrier

Associate professor, Department of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology, University of Southern Denmark, has received a Lundbeck Foundation Ascending Investigators research grant worth DKK 5,038,000.
The aim of his project is to study how cholesterol and the cholesterol compound oxysterol find their way into the brain via the blood-brain barrier – and to what extent the two compounds play a role in neurodegenerative diseases such as Parkinson's.
