Christina Horsager Pedersen, registrar, Child and Adolescent Psychiatry, Aalborg University, has been awarded a postdoc research grant worth DKK 1,639,575.
Her project investigates how food addiction can potentially be a hindrance in the treatment of psychiatric disorders.
The project is based on recent Danish research which demonstrates that people with psychiatric disorders are at greater risk of becoming obese and developing type 2 diabetes – which also appears to have a negative effect on their psychiatric condition.
