Marin Barisic’s project will investigate the role of microtubule detyrosination in guiding the intracellular transport required for tumour invasion and will dissect molecular mechanisms underlying the association between this tubulin post-translational modification and neurodegeneration.
One of the main aims is to develop a new class of compounds that target microtubule detyrosination-associated enzymes with potential anti-cancer and anti-neurodegenerative properties.
