LFIN - The Lundbeck Foundation Investigator Network
LFIN STATEMENT
The Lundbeck Foundation Investigator Network is a community of early to mid-career and talented investigators in Denmark dedicated to exploring the vast field of neuroscience on several levels. The network brings together a diverse group of researchers from various disciplines, all united in their passion for understanding the complexity of the brain and its functions. From molecular and cellular neuroscience to cognitive and systems neuroscience, our members are committed to advancing our understanding of the brain and its disorders through cutting-edge research and collaboration.
The researchers are not only driven by their passion for neuroscience, but also by a shared ambition to make the field more accessible to a wider audience. We believe that by challenging the barriers between different areas of neuroscience, and by fostering collaboration and communication between researchers, we can accelerate the pace of discovery and bring the benefits of neuroscientific research to a broader range of people. We are committed to making our findings and resources available to the wider scientific community, and working with policymakers and educators to promote public understanding and engagement within neuroscience.
LFIN AIMS TO:
-
Building bridges across disciplines, and between Danish research institutions, to improve neuroscience research in Denmark. LFIN members meet twice a year and can receive seed funding for collaborative projects bridging disciplines and institutions.
Mentor and train the new generation of neuroscientists in Denmark. LFIN members receive career and personal development training at meetings
Promote Danish neuroscience research at national and international levels. We will strengthen the visibility of the Danish neuroscientific community, through the representation of the Danish neuroscience community, at seminars, and conferences and engaging with our global peers.
Engaging with national and international stakeholders to promote the importance of neuroscience research for society. Participation in public outreach, engaging with policymakers and funding agencies.
THE LFIN BOARD & MEMBERS
The LFIN board is composed of (co-)chairs, scientific (co-)directors, (co-)ambassadors, and training and development (co-)directors who all together are responsible for turning the members’ experiences, opinions, ambitions, and goals into meeting activities. This ensures the network is steadily identifying areas of potential development, organizing talks on crucial issues, engaging with public outreach as well as organizing training for collective and individual growth. As such, the board functions as the voice of the members guiding the direction of young neuroscientists in Denmark.
