CLINICAL POSTDOC

Jacob Horsager, PhD student, Aarhus University Hospital, has been awarded a postdoc research grant from Lundbeck Foundation worth DKK 2,500,000.

His project aims to gain a more precise understanding of different varieties of Parkinson’s disease.

Parkinson’s causes disruptions in the locomotive apparatus in the form of, among other things, tremors and difficulties walking. However, this neurodegenerative disease can also cause a number of non-locomotive symptoms, including constipation, loss of sense of smell, sleep disorders and dementia. Jacob Horsager will use, among other things, brain scans of nerve damage in patients to gain a better understanding of the specific neurobiology of these sub-categories of Parkinson’s.
