Illuminating local myelin production

Senior Adviser

In the normal brain, the velocity at which neurons relay their signals is intricately regulated by the extent of myelin coverage along their axons. This underscores the critical role of myelination as a mechanism to coordinate signal transmission in neuronal networks.
In this project, we aim to use a zebrafish model to address a long-standing question in neurobiology: How do neurons control myelin-sheath formation locally around individual axons.
