CLINICAL POSTDOC

Dan Høgdall, MD, Herlev and Gentofte Hospital, Center for Cancer Immune Therapy, has been awarded a postdoc research grant from Lundbeck Foundation worth DKK 2,486,317.

His project studies the treatment of gallbladder and biliary tract cancer. This is a type of cancer that affects around 200 people in Denmark annually, and the treatment options are often limited. Patients are typically offered chemotherapy, but reactions to the treatment vary greatly.

Through the study of blood and tissue samples from patients, Dan Høgdall will attempt to construct a model based on immune signals from tumours associated with this type of cancer with the aim of assessing how a patient will respond to chemotherapy.
