CRISPR integrases: from microbial defence to directed DNA integration

Arturo Carabias del Rey, Novo Nordisk Foundation for Protein Research, University of Copenhagen, has been awarded a postdoc research grant from Lundbeck Foundation worth DKK 2,399,376.

His project seeks to develop new tools for the CRISPR gene-editing technique. Popularly called, ‘gene scissor technology’, this precision technique is used for genetic manipulation, for instance, in disease research.
