In accordance with the statutes of the Foundation Director Thorleif Krarup will retire at the Annual General Meeting on April 9, 2015 after having served on the Board for 12 years. Thorleif Krarup will also step down as a member of the Foundation's Investment and Research Committees and as Chairman of the Committee for Science Teaching and Communication.
The Board has recommended MA, Economics Peter Schütze (1948) to join the board at the Board at the Annual General Meeting.
Peter Schütze is formerly chairman of the Board of Nordea Bank Denmark A/S and a member of the Group Executive Management of Nordea AB with responsibility for Nordic banking. Today, he holds numerous board positions including the chairmanship of the board of Copenhagen Business School and DSB.
Due to an increase in the activities, it has furthermore been decided to expand the board and consequently BSc. Economics Lars Holmqvist (1959) has also been recommended to join the Board at the Annual General Meeting.
Lars Holmqvist, a Swedish citizen, has previously held senior positions with responsibility for products in the life science industry for companies such as Boston Scientific Corporation, Medtronic, Applied Biosystems Group, DAKO (CEO) and the latest Agilent Technologies. Lars Holmqvist is currently senior advisor to Bain Capital and Chairman of the Swedish investment company Skutviken AB.
From the forthcoming Annual General Meetings in the spring of 2015, Peter Schütze will represent the Lundbeck Foundation in Falck, while Lars Holmqvist will represent the Foundation in H. Lundbeck and ALK. The Foundation’s CEO Lene Skole will represent the Foundation as vice chairman in all three companies.
