Corporate Social Responsibility

Lundbeckfonden is a responsible social player

It is a great responsibility to be the main shareholder in major companies and to distribute grants of around half a billion Danish kroner a year to biomedical sciences research. It requires openness and transparency, on our own part and on the part of our partners, whether they be our subsidiaries or recipients of our grants. For this reason, Corporate Social Responsibility is an integral part of the way in which we work and take decisions.

As one of Denmark’s largest commercial foundations, we wish to lead the way with our ethical guidelines. For example, we have set up a whistle-blower scheme, drawn up and published our tax policy and set clear targets for gender diversification in our management ranks. Our asset management is based on our investment charter, and recipients of our grants must comply with our code of best research practice.

Moreover, Lundbeckfonden is the only private Danish foundation that has signed the UN Global Compact.
